Our
Vision
"See
how God's Love shows us the way of life." {RB
Prol.20}
the
community of the Monastery of St. Gertrude
- is a people eager to journey together
with the Gospel as our guide; {RB Prol.21}
- are professed members of the monastic
community and those whose connections with us are mutually
life-enhancing.
We
The Benedictine Sisters of the Monastery of St. Gertrude, seek God
together through monastic profession.
We commit to
- pray communally and personally;
- share
all things in common; {Acts 4:32}
- live simply, reverently and
attentively;
- persevere in the enduring
relationships and the life-long process through which God sustains
and transforms us.
Grounded in our contemplative call, we
welcome the creative tension that connects our rural feminine roots with
a global awareness. we respond
to the needs of our sisters and brothers in healing
hospitality, grateful simplicity and creative peacemaking.
We commit to our corporate activities
of:
- spirituality ministry
- museum ministry
- other teaching and healing ministries
|
- reverent care of the land
- justice-making
- monastery industries
|
We chose relational
styles of partnership and collaboration.
We minister at the monastery and in the Church of the Northwest
We are eager
to welcome God's transforming power in ourselves and our world.
Dancing at the edge of a dream, we
-
commit to ongoing
personal and communal growth;
-
connect intimately to
all of God's creation;
-
trust and embrace God's
promise for the future.
As Benedictine women,
animated by our contemplative way of life,
we act as leaven to nourish our world.
