Evangela Bossert,
O.S.B., has
been a Benedictine sister of the Monastery of St. Gertrude for over 40
years. She completed a Masters program in English, did graduate work in
Theology and holds a Doctor of Arts in English. Her ministries have included
teaching in secondary schools, directing Religious Education programs and
directing a sabbatical program in contemplative spirituality. She is a
spiritual director and the author of
Gertrude of Helfta: Companion for the Millennium.

| Judith Brower, O.S.B., is a member of the
Monastery of St. Gertrude where she currently serves as liturgy coordinator.
A graduate of the Christian Spiritual Guidance Program of the Shalem
Institute for Spiritual Formation, Bethesda, Maryland, she tries to offer a
listening heart to those she meets in spiritual direction and retreat work.
After more than 30 years in college and secondary education, she now is
grateful to be able to share with others about their journeys in faith. She
also appreciates the opportunities available to "indulge" her own love of
music as an amateur musician and composer |

| Sean Caulfield, a
retired priest of the diocese of Boise, has published four books in the
area of spirituality. He was a Trappist monk for 20 years and chaplain
at the Monastery of St. Gertrude for 10 years. |

| Nancy Copeland-Payton is
a retreat leader, spiritual director and ordained Presbyterian clergy. She
has pastored congregations as well as previously practicing medicine
overseas and in US inner cities. She lives in the mountains of Sandpoint,
Idaho and is a companion on the leadership team for Casa del Sol
Spirituality and Retreat Center in Abiquiu, New Mexico. |

Ken Ecklund is a
member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Cathedral in Boise.
He is the regional coordinator of Contemplative
Outreach and has been a frequent facilitator of
Centering Prayer workshops and retreats for over 10 years. |

Lillian
Englert,
O.S.B., a member of the Monastery of St. Gertrude, has a theological
background in scripture and monasticism. Her formal education in spiritual
direction was the
Shalem Spiritual Guidance program in Bethesda, MD. A
former teacher of Scripture and English at
Bishop Kelly High School in
Boise, Sr. Lillian also studied theology at
St. John’s University at
Collegeville, MN and other universities in the Northwest. |

Sister Carlotta Maria Fontes, OSB, has a
Master Herbalist certificate, cares for the herb garden at the Monastery of
St. Gertrude and serves on the monastery’s Stewardship of the Land
Committee. She makes monastery soaps, salves and lip balms. She has taken
and given herbs and soap making classes. |

Barbara Jean Glodowski, O.S.B.,
MEd, is a Benedictine Sister of the Monastery of St. Gertrude in Cottonwood,
ID, and is the director of Spirit Center and
Transforming Experiences. She is a certified
Spiritual Director and is completing her studies in lifelong spiritual
development with Dr. Richard Johnson. Sister Barbara Jean is one of three
certified Sage-ing™ Seminar Leaders in the Pacific Northwest and is a
certified Hurley/Dodson Advanced Enneagram Teacher. Involved in all aspects
of education, Sister Barbara Jean was listed in the "Who's Who In Education"
in 1989. She received the Partin Award for Excellence in Senior Adult
Ministry from the National Association for Senior Adult Ministry (ASAM) in
2000. She has also made key-note addresses at a variety of national
conventions.

Mary Kay
Henry, OSB., has a Masters
in Religious Education from Seattle University; did graduate studies in
spirituality at Mundelein College, Chicago; and has over 40 years of
professional experience as teacher, religious education coordinator,
pastoral associate, director of retreat ministry, Prioress of
St. Gertrude's, and currently
Director of Development at St. Gertrude's. She has
also participated in Engaged Encounter weekends, Marriage Encounter weekends
and couples’ retreats. |

Teresa Jackson OSB is a
member of the Monastery of St. Gertrude. She has been a retreat leader for
a number of years with a special interest in scripture and monastic
spirituality. She has an M.A. in Spirituality and a Certificate in Monastic
Studies. |

Kathy McFaul
has
worked in Spirituality Ministry with the Benedictine community at the
Monastery of St. Gertrude since 1999. A certified spiritual director through
the Shalem Spiritual Guidance program in Bethesda, Maryland, she has done
parish work, practiced Poverty Law and coordinated a women’s spirituality
project based in Seattle, Washington. |

Jack McMahon is currently Pro Bono
Program Director at the University of Idaho College of Law and is past
President of the Idaho State Bar. Before earning his J.D. at Harvard Law
School, he taught philosophy at St. Louis University, Marquette University,
and Marymount College. After receiving his PhD at St. Louis University, he
did post-doctoral research in philosophy and theology at the University of
Tubingen. |

Mary Jayne and Jim Minnette have been
team couples for Engaged Encounter weekends and have served as mentors and
resource people for newly married couples. They have also worked together in
the past on couples’ retreats. |

Darlyne Pape has
practiced Centering Prayer for decades and has taught the practice for
years. |

Sister
Agnes Reichlin, OSB, has a Masters Degree in Nursing and has worked in a
variety of nursing settings. She is currently the director of formation at
the Monastery of St. Gertrude and serves on the monastery’s Stewardship of
the Land Committee. She has taken and given herbs and essential oils
courses. |

Meg Sass, O.S.B.,
has a degree in Secondary Education, Masters in Pastoral Studies from
Loyola
University of Chicago, Lakeshore and a life-long interest in organizational
leadership and faith development, taught and was principal in private and
public schools in Idaho for over 13 years. She then moved into leadership
in a variety of ecumenical outreach organizations in Lewiston and the
Spokane area. The seven organizations she helped begin, starting in 1983,
are still helping seniors and those in need. She is past president of the
Board of Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs, serves on the Boards of three
rural hospitals in Orofino, Cottonwood and Jerome, and has been a major
speaker for the
Spokane Falls Community College Leadership group. She has
led parish councils, Renew coordinators, deanery groups, women's groups and
others in retreats, goal setting, planning and evaluation activities, always
with a Benedictine flavor. She has been a presenter for Ministerial
Development Groups in faith development and liturgical practices and for
Renew in social justice areas. Currently she is the assistant prioress for
community, responsible for long range planning and the director of oblates. |

Bernadette Stang, OSB has been a
Benedictine Sister of the Monastery for almost 50 years. She received her
B.A. from Cardinal Stritch College, Milwaukee,
and since has continued studies in religious and pastoral education,
theology and spiritual direction at
Mundeleine College, Loyola University, St. Johns University and Mount Angel
Seminary. Her ministries have included teaching
both in the Northwest and South America, religious education
and pastoral ministry. She set up an
after-school tutoring program at Farmway
Village, a migrant camp in
Caldwell, Idaho. She has led retreats in parishes and at universities in
the Northwest and at the Monastery. |

Louise and Bill Stolz have participated
in many Marriage Encounter weekends. They have also worked together in the
past on couples’ retreats. |

Cindy and John Ulmen have been team
couples for Engaged Encounter weekends and have served as mentors and
resource people for newly married couples. They have also worked together in
the past on couples’ retreats. |

Carol Ann
Wassmuth O.S.B,.
has been a Benedictine Sister for over 40 years. A native of Idaho, she
grew up about ten miles from the Monastery of St. Gertrude. In recent
years, through caring for the monastery’s 1400 acres, she has become deeply
aware of ecology and how everything works together in creation. The
monastery was the recipient of the Idaho Tree Farmer of the Year for 2001
for their healthy tree farm management. She has been tracking the creation
of the
Pastoral Letter on the Columbia River Project from its inception. |

Melanie
Weidner is a Quaker contemplative artist and
spiritual director. Her work inspires spiritual reflection and
encourages others to explore creativity and prayer. Melanie earned a B.A.
degree in Religion with an Art minor from George Fox University in 1991, and
a Master of Divinity, Spirituality Emphasis, from the
Earlham School of
Religion in 1998. She currently studies with the
Namaste
Center in the Contemplative Listening Program toward certification in
the art of spiritual direction, and is a member of
Spiritual Directors
International. Melanie now lives and works in Portland, Oregon and is a
member of West
Hills Friends Meeting, a Quaker worship community. |
