LENT

A TIME FOR

REFLECTION

Lent is a time to prepare for the coming of our Risen Savior at Easter. It is a wonderful time to pause, reflect and enter more deeply into our faith journey.

The Spirituality Outreach Ministry at the Monastery of St. Gertrude makes it possible for your parish, church or group to gather for a time of reflection during Lent.

A member of St. Gertrude's community can come to your place and lead a Lenten mini-retreat, usually just two hours long.  Choose a morning, an afternoon or evening in the middle of the week or on a weekend.

Select one of the possible retreat topics listed here and then contact us to schedule a time and place. Not all presenters are available at all times so please have some alternate dates and choices ready.

Blessings during this season of Lent!

The Journey of Lent:  Giving Up Guilt, Preparing for Love

Presenter:  Sr. Teresa Jackson, OSB

"This is the Night..." Praying the Exultet

Presenter:  Sr. Judith Brower, OSB

Coming Home to the Heart of God

By looking at Lenten disciplines such as penitence, prayer and fasting, we will explore the practices which will help us enter more fully into Lent, leading us back to the heart of God.
Presenter:  Kathy McFaul

How Do Mini-Retreats Work?

Lenten mini-retreats are designed to be two hours in length but a longer time is possible.

Cost:  The suggested donation is $75 for a two hour retreat plus transportation (e.g. mileage).

We try to make these retreats available to all parishes and groups.  Parishes or churches able to contribute more than the suggested donation help support outreach groups that might not be able to otherwise afford a retreat.
