We invite you to consider a donation to the Idaho Corporation of Benedictine Sisters. We are an IRS approved 501(c)(3) organization and your contribution is tax deductible as defined by law.

Currently, we have 4 appeals underway.  The General Appeal Vocation Appeal, the Tree Appeal and the Museum Appeal.

With the $20,000 we plan to raise for vocations awareness and exploration, we want to increase our visibility through personal contacts, presentations, advertising, scholarships or stipends for financially strapped inquirers, and additional clerical support for Sister Janet, our Vocation Director. Our hope is to help more women find their way to St. Gertrude's.

In the spring of 2001 we launched our Grow a Forest Campaign to plant 60,000 trees on 120 acres of forestland on Cottonwood Butte. Over 400 people responded to our appeal allowing us to reach our goal. And so, last summer, a new forest was planted!  

Healthy forests require annual attention.  Sr. Carol Ann Wassmuth, the monastery's forester, plans to plant 75,000 more seedlings over the next several years.  She is overseeing a pre-commercial thin of non-merchantable trees in order to prevent disease and to promote growth.  In some places she will need to replant with trees better suited to the site.

Fall 2002 and 2003 The Historical Museum at St. Gertrude became the focus of an appeal for $30,000 to help cover the cost of maintaining the 70,000 artifacts in the collection housed there.
