What is “development”?

“Development, ultimately, is the means of enabling donors
to realize the fulfillment of their philanthropic dreams
 of helping create a society
that reflects their most deeply held values.”

Hard at work in the Development Office

The Benedictine sisters’ ministry of development is focused on promoting the mission, membership and ministries of the monastery and raising the funds necessary to do the job well.

The development office focuses on four areas:

  • telling the story of the monastery
  • inviting others to participate in the ministries of the monastery by making a financial commitment
  • showing gratitude and appreciation to the donors
  • keeping donors informed of the use of their gifts.
