High Altar in St. Gertrude's historic chapel

Currently, donations account for approximately 20% of the general operating income for the monastery.

This income is used to pay the bills, maintain the grounds and buildings and support the ministries of the monastery.

We encourage unrestricted gifts, but you may specify which ministry or work of the sisters you want to help.

Two on-going urgent opportunities are the recruitment and education of new members, and the retirement needs of the elder sisters.

Other areas you might choose to support are the retreat/spirituality ministry, the museum or the stewardship of the land.
