II.  Jesus Accepts the Cross

We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by your holy crossYou have redeemed the world.

Jesus, teach me what it meant for you
to accept the cross:

To see this object and know it would be the object of your future.

To put it on your shoulders.

To feel wood used in this way.

To be willing to be about the deed of your death.

Jesus, teach me what it means--
