IX. Jesus Falls the Third Time

We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Jesus, teach me what it meant for you to fall the third time:

To hear the crowds and know you must be near the top of the hill.

To hear their cries of disappointment that you might die here.

To know it is almost to the place.

To know there will be no more falls.

Jesus, teach me what it means--

to fall the third time.
