X. Jesus Is Stripped

We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Jesus, teach me what it meant for you to be stripped:

To have the last remnants of your coverings ripped away.

To have what wounds had healed now be reopened.

To stand naked in front of those who hated and mocked you.

To stand naked in front of those who loved you.

To know aloneness.

Jesus, teach me what it means--

to be stripped.
