XI. Jesus Is Nailed to the Cross

We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Jesus, teach me what it meant for you to be nailed:

To know pain unlike any other after you thought you had come to know it all.

To be lifted up and to be unable to move your right hand or . . .

To be in sight of a jeering crowd who cry, “Failure!”

To be in sight of your mother.

To know you will soon die.

Jesus, teach me what it means--

to be nailed to the cross.
