XII.  Jesus Dies

We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Jesus, teach me what it meant for you to die:

To leave those you love.

To be totally alone.

To doubt your own life’s value.

To inflict grief on those you love.

To know it’s finished.

To meet your God.

Jesus, teach me what it means--

to die.
