XIII. Jesus Is Taken Down From the Cross

We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Jesus, teach me what it meant for you to be taken down from your cross:

To be taken down.

To be lifeless.

To be unable to be cared for by others.

To be beyond their reach or touch.

To be unable to comfort those you love.

Jesus, teach me what it means--

to be taken down from the cross.
