Artists ResidencyThe Artist Residency at St. Gertrude is the opportunity for visual artists, musicians and writers to spend time with their practices in a monastic setting amidst the Benedictine Sisters of Cottonwood, Idaho. You will live in the Monastery, joining the community in meals and other aspects of community life. Residency participants (up to five) will gather once a week for reflections on creativity. You will be provided with studio space and your residency should conclude with an informal presentation of your work to the monastic community. All meals are provided as well as a private room with a shared bathroom. There is no fee to apply or participate.

How to Apply
__ Brief letter of introduction
__ Artist’s Resume
__ 10 images of your work or up to 20 minutes of video or audio (on CD or as a link to your website)
__ 2 letters of reference
__ Concise responses to the following:

~Please provide a description of your art practice including medium, general working schedule, inspirations, environment, types of collaboration, etc.
~What kind of studio space is ideal for your practice?
~How do you think your practice would benefit from living for three weeks among a monastic community?
~Would you be able to provide an informal presentation of your work (performance, exhibit, reading, etc.) to the monastic community?
