Historical Museum at St. Gertrude
nominated for national award
June 4, 2010
Representative Walt Minnick (D-ID) has
nominated the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude in Cottonwood, Idaho,
for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. Administered by
the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) in Washington D.C.,
the National Medal is the nation’s highest honor for museums and
libraries that make extraordinary civic, educational, economic,
environmental and social contributions in their community and region.
Five museums and five libraries receive the award annually.

Sister Clarissa Goeckner, Prioress, attended
the annual meeting of the Conference of American Benedictine Prioresses
held in January in Beech Grove, Indiana. Representing Benedictine
communities in the United States, Mexico, South America and the Bahamas,
fifty-three prioresses gathered to share current ministry initiatives,
community challenges and successes, conference business updates and
retreat time.
