Last summer at Spirit Center at the Monastery of St. Gertrude, Father Damian Higgins led a week-long retreat on the art of iconography. By the end of the week, each person had completed a seven-by-ten inch icon of St. Michael the Archangel. Read more...

As Christmas lights come down and ornaments get packed way, it would be easy for an outsider to assume Christmas has ended. But not at the Monastery. Eight trees (five in the chapel, one in the dining room, and one in the community room, and one in Sister Carol Ann’s office) stand tall and fresh with lights and decorations. Read more...
