Beloved Souls Prayer Project

A Time of Remembering

November begins with two days of honoring saints and souls: All Saints’ Day on November 1 and All Souls’ Day on November 2. The Center for Benedictine Life at the Monastery of St. Gertrude community continues remembering the deceased Sisters, Oblates, family, friends and benefactors throughout the month. Three large banners are hung in the chapel, as well, with the names of every sister who has passed into eternal life.

“As we remember them, they become present to us,” explains Sister Teresa Jackson. “As we call them to mind, we hold them in God’s love and know that they are enfolded in God’s care. The ones who have gone before are the ‘great cloud of witnesses’ mentioned in Hebrews 12:1…like a stadium full of people cheering us on.”

The sisters would like to also hold in prayer your departed loved ones during this month of remembrance. Please send us the name(s) of your loved ones to be added to our list!
