She just turned eleven, and yet Emma Strommen will run in her seventh Raspberry Festival Fun Run on August 6. This accomplished runner has participated in advanced events such as the Idaho Endurance Runs in Crouch, Idaho, and the Pickled Feet run in which she ran 100.58 miles in 48 hours.

You might say she was born to run. Her parents took her to a 5K event when she was 3, intending to push her in a stroller. She refused to stay in it. She has been running ever since, at a sub-7-minute pace for her 5Ks.

The 25th Annual Raspberry Festival will be Sunday, August 6 and is a fundraiser for the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude that features fun activities for the whole family including a pancake breakfast, grilled hamburgers, raspberry shortcake, jam and products, an arts & crafts fair, live music, a kids’ carnival, art show, car show, community education corner, chapel tours, Historical Museum visits, and more.

You may not be able to keep up with Emma Strommen, but you can certainly join in her enthusiasm on August 6. Register for the Fun Run & Walk…
